­Hello. Would love some feedback on my profile:

Some initial information is that I have been on this ride since 2023, I applied to about 6 schools last year and got into 3: Cornell, NYU and Ross. I enrolled at Cornell However I was unable to secure my US Visa to resume this last week.
I have now deferred my addmission, however I am considering reapplying to M7's to just retry my luck. Additionally I applied to HBS & Booth with a 326 GRE and I had not made manager at the time.

Hello dddi, and thanks for your post.

I am impressed with your success last year! The three schools to which you were admitted are competitive, and it is exciting that you may still attend Cornell. You definitely have a chance at M7 schools too though.
Your GRE is very strong, and it does help to compensate for your GPA. If you are applying Round 2, you could even take a supplemental course such as stats or calculus, or even HBS CORe, to show that you would succeed in the MBA classroom.

Your work experience sounds impressive too. You have made a lot of impact in your last two roles. Ideally this will be supported by strong recommendation letters as well. It’s important to provide your recommender with some guidance to make sure that he or she writes about specific examples of how you have stood out. Additionally, it will also be important to explain why you want your MBA, and to also illustrate the skills you already have which are transferable. Be sure your story makes sense, and is realistic and specific. Simply writing “consulting at MBB” is too general.

Regarding extracurriculars, make sure to really emphasize your leadership roles you have taken on. Your mentoring is one aspect of your profile on which you can elaborate.

If you continue to strengthen your profile, you do have a chance at some M7 schools, but they are extremely competitive, and each school simply does not have the room to admit all the world's qualified applicants. However, hopefully through your essays, resume, and recommendation letters, they will see that you have a compelling story and are someone who will add value to the classroom and community.
