The college level effort sounds alright - do think about how you'll quantify impact which is a critical but often overlooked aspect.

The UN online (?) bit is always useful. Assuming it's ongoing and not a short one-off. Will help and depend on how well you articulate these, and bring them to life.

Hi naven,

Thank you for sharing your profile. Your profile looks good on the surface. Starting with the stats, your undergrad GPA is good, and you have a good GMAT score. Your IR and AWA scores are important, but your overall score is perhaps the most essential. You have a few options for dealing with this:

1) If you believe you can get the same score again, retake the exam.
2) Work hard on your essays or overall application (we can help you).
3) This situation can be explained in optional essays.
4) You might reach out to your target schools and inquire about how they evaluate AWA and IR scores. You may also ask them directly if your low scores, given your excellent GMAT score, are a reason for concern and what you can do about it.

Aside from that, you'll simply have to expect that the rest of your profile is strong enough. On the work front, your role appears to be strategic, and I see a good career progression. You must bring your leadership experiences, how you perform, the innovation you brought, and your potential. Your voluntary activity is great. Bring something you are passionate about or a hobby to add diversity to your apps. Divide your post-mba goals into short-term and long-term goals. Your short-term goal is consulting, but what about your long-term goal? Consider this. You may not be specifically asked to do so, but it is good to examine how you connect your goals to your previous experience and accomplishments. The story will be more organized, logical, and concise, which the admissions committee will undoubtedly appreciate. Insead, HEC, LBS, Kellogg, MIT, Fuqua, Columbia, Darden, and UCLA are schools based on your goals. Overall, you have a good profile and a decent chance of getting into business school. I'd like to learn more about your work profile to assess your chances better and see how you can compensate for IR and AWA scores. If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and shortlist b-schools for you. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Hello,

Nationality: Indian
Sex: Male
Age: 24
Intake: Fall'23

Education Background: Electronics and Communication Engineering with a CGPA of 8.1/10

Professional Background: Currently working as a Strategy Manager at a leading product based manufacturing company. Work involves Digital Strategy development and Strategy Consulting to the Digital Services Org at the company. Two role based promotions in 2 years, considering my performance. Started out as a Supply Chain intern in my pre-final year of bachelor's, earned a full-time position of Project Management Specialist, then IT Product Manager followed by a promotion as Strategy Manager.

Though my academic background was into engineering, I had been working in the fields of Supply Chain, Project/Product Management and Strategy.

GMAT: Attempt 1- 700 (Q51, V35, IR 3, AWA 4)
Attempt 2 - 760 (Q50, V44, IR 1) I blew up the AWA and IR which was the first part of my GMAT order. Due to technical jitters, lags and various issues such as the proctor not able to launch the exam for an hour etc, I lost focus and messed up with the initial sections.

EC's - Student Head at a technical student organization during my UG
UN Volunteer Assignments ( Preventing Human Trafficking in Cameroon, Raising education funds for underprivileged girls in Kenya)

Post-MBA goal - Continue in the same domain of (Strategy) Consulting at MBB or the Big 4.

B-Schools: T15-T25 with good scholarship

Questions: 1.) I am very satisfied with my online GMAT attempt 2 score. But I am very insecure if my extremely bad IR and AWA(yet to receive) will raise a big red flag at my admissions. How do I tackle this? Expert advice please

2.) My academic background puts me in the vast ORM category. But with a little unique professional background of Strategy Consulting, Will I have an edge over the others?

Suggestions of schools are highly welcomed.
