Hi Guys. I was hoping to get a review on my Profile
Education: 95th Percentile in Class
Bachelor of Art
Master in Economics (Delhi School of Economics)
MPhil in Economics (Delhi School of Economics) - Research Disseration based Degree
GMAT Score: 760 (Q49/V46)
Work Experience: Almost 2 years in Government of India's Think Tank working on Industrial Policy, Logistics, etc
My MPhil was for 2.5 years as a result, my Work Experience overall is only 2 years. I wanted to check if I have a shot at M7 if I can leverage the work done in MPhil program to highlight my goals.

Hi,
You have a good profile and it definitely calls for a shot at the top 7 bschools. You are working at a very prestigious organization that regularly send applicants to top MBA programs. That said, whether you should apply now or a year later totally depends on the work you have done, what are your achievements/impact, and how you can tie your goals together with everything you have done so far. If you have a strong story to tell, it can work to your advantage, even in this year's applications.
I also see some publications in your name which would be an added benefit to your profile.

Congratulations on achieving a stellar GMAT score! You appear to have a strong academic record.
On the work front, 2 years of work plus 2.5 years of M.Phil appears impressive. Working with a prestigious organization also adds up to your profile. However, you cannot count the duration of M.Phil as your work experience, although the work can add up to stories that you are going to move ahead with the AdComs. It all depends on how you connect the dots and build a great narrative around it. Research Dissertation based Degree would also add up to some interesting research papers from your end. Try highlighting them.
A strong profile like yours stands a good chance of acceptance at the top B-School if your goals, ECs, Essays and LOR’s are adequately aligned.
