Hi everyone,

As an undergraduate senior, I'm considering applying to deferred admissions MBA programs in 2018, specifically the programs at Stanford and Harvard (2+2). I would appreciate any thoughts/advice/recommendations!

Background:
Age: 22
Sex: Male
Nationality: Indian
Language: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu (Last three are regional languages in India)


Education:
School: X ( State board of TamilNadu) - 90.2% , XII (CBSE) - 95.2%
School: Awarded INSPIRE certificate for being in Top 1% of all exam takers in the country. Awarded merit certificate Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna (KVPY) in XII.
CGPA: 8.0+(out of 10) from best-ranked engineering university in India for past three years (IIT), No scholarships or honors awarded here.
GMAT: Estimating 710-730

Work Experience:
Internship in one of Indias leading Truck manufacturing company. ( 6 weeks ) // Developed a new model to evaluate their clutch performance.
Internship working on a supply chain project in Indias leading watch manufacturing firm. ( 6 weeks) // improved cycle-time efficiency.
Summer internship as research intern in Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad(IIMA)(It is one of the best B-School In India) (2 Months)
Project worked during the internship was presented as a paper at a conference conducted in IIMA. // One of two undergraduate presenters out of 43 presentations


School Experience:

Social Impact / community service:

Part of Organizing team which guided 35+ projects comprising of more than 400 people with a budget of ₹45 Lakhs ( roughly around $60,000)
Part of the team which conducted a nationwide hackathon for an emergency response app which was launched by the Chief Minister of TamilNadu
Have a patent pending on an automatic mechanical solution for urinals disposal

Other points

Financial Inclinations:
I am also a Level-3 in NSE certified market professional by completing 7 finance related modules and received NSE certified Investment Analyst Pro by NSE Academy.
Am a Level 1 Candidate for CFA and am writing it in June of this year.

Technical/ Outside college organizational points:
I also have worked on a lot of technical projects and won a few college fest competitions.
My dad is a businessman and owns a small manufacturing plant for plastic bottles and I work with him during my off time.

Post MBA aspirations,
Currently Got placed in a Tier-2 Consulting firm. Was planning to go for Impact Investing.

Do you think there is anything key missing? What would help my application? I would really appreciate any insights or advice.

Kghp Thanks for sharing your profile, breaking into the 2+2 program is really tough for all candidates and especially so for candidates coming from your competitive demographic. Your profile is solid, nothing here that will have you stand out however I would focus on getting to at least a 730 before taking a shot at these programs given how competitive your applicant pool is. Your story will have to be exceptional for you to breakthrough at these programs
