The community here is amazing first of all! I have plans to apply next year in R1.
Indian, 25.
School academics: Above 95% each(High and senior high)
Degree: Bachelors in Commerce from Tier 1 university and college in India 7.8/10 GPA.
GRE 1st try: 322 (Q163, V159)

Work ex as of 31st Dec'24: 9 months in OW in consumer team.
3 years in one of the MBBs as a research analyst in the research and capability team, working closely with consultants on editing decks, sometimes being part of online client calls as well. 2 promotions and 2 awards for performances. Have also been to a client site in KSA for a project for 3 months.

Post MBA goal: I have worked with the Consumer clients for most part and I would like to transition to an FMCG firm. Say P&G, Nestle etc.
ECA:

  1. VP of Enactus, led various technical projects and got #3 in Enactus world cup.
  2. Part of Finance and Investment cell of college, Vice captain of football team for 2 years.
  3. Volunteered for a(NGO) for an year and led various awareness drives and campaigns in Indian slums.
  4. Did certification course from Wharton online to learn powerBi, R and Python and other skillsets to apply in my job at MBB when I left my first job. (Don't know if it counts)
  5. Part of CSR team in current job and looking to volunteer in one more NGO this year to improve profile.
My college aims: T15 and ISB,IIM PGPX in India, Insead/NUS/Nanyang/ESSEC in Singapore
I'm still researching more about colleges but going through the posts, M7 for my profile looks like a far fetched dream. Would need atleast 50% scholarship to make it affordable as I'm the first generation college go-er in my family.
What are my chances with current GRE score?
Hi Coldie25,

Your profile has several strengths, particularly your work experience at an MBB firm and your strong academic background. However, your GRE score could be a significant hurdle for the most selective M7 schools.

Strengths:

Strong Work Experience: Your experience at an MBB firm is a significant asset. Your role in the research and capability team provides valuable exposure to consulting methodologies and client interactions.
Leadership and Extracurriculars: Your involvement in Enactus, your leadership roles in college, and your volunteer work demonstrate your leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility.
Academic Background: Your strong academic record in high school and undergraduate studies is a positive.
Undergraduate GPA: While good, a slightly higher GPA would have enhanced your profile.

Given your profile, you can consider the Indian schools you mentioned. Internationally, we would like to speak with you at length and further recommend the best-fit schools across the UK and Europe.

M7 Schools: With your current GRE score, M7 schools will be a reach. However, with a higher GRE score and a strong application, you can increase your chances.
Scholarships: Scholarships can significantly reduce the financial burden of an MBA. Research scholarship opportunities at your target schools and explore options for financial aid.

By focusing on these areas and leveraging your strengths, you can increase your chances of admission to top-tier MBA programs. Feel free to schedule a free call with our experts. You can also connect directly with our experts via call at +91 7780769732.

Coldie25,

Your profile is strong and competitive for top MBA programs, including Ross, IIMA PGPX, and ISB PGP. Your academics, impressive MBB experience, and leadership roles in Enactus and other extracurriculars demonstrate your potential. Your GRE score is a bit concern but retake it if you have the confidence to add 5 points to your current score and focusing on your achievements and post-MBA goals in your essays is key. Remember it is important to research each program thoroughly and craft your application to showcase your unique value proposition.

We would be happy to evaluate your profile in depth to refine your essays and increase your chances of admission and securing scholarships.

What are my chances with current GRE score?
Hi Coldie25 , I hope you are doing well!

Your profile demonstrates good academic credentials, impressive professional experience at MBB and OW with promotions and client exposure, and great extracurricular leadership through Enactus and NGO work. Your clear post-MBA goal of transitioning to an FMCG firm aligns well with your background. However, your GRE score of 322 is good but slightly low for T15 schools, and securing scholarships might be challenging without improvement. Retaking the GRE to aim for 325+ and focusing on compelling essays that highlight your leadership, first-generation college story, and career trajectory can enhance your chances. Schools like ISB, NUS, NTU, ESSEC, and IIM PGPX are realistic targets, while T15 could become attainable with an improved score and strong application strategy. You will need to exhibit your fit for top MBA programs and how you will add value to their cohort. Do you have any international experience? Overall, you have a decent profile and do have a chance at top schools. We would like to know more about your profile like achievements, challenges faced, impact creation and more. These details will help us identify, if you can pull out good stories from your experience and shortlist schools for you.

If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a 1:1 call with you to discuss your profile in detail and gauge your chances to identify the best-fit schools. Please feel free to schedule a profile evaluation call according to your convenience.
