Hi everyone,
Would love to hear if my profile a good fit to US T15 Programs (esp. Yale & Duke)
- Male, 27, straight, international
- My country usually sends 10-15 candidates (mostly sponsored MBB) to T15 MBA programs every year, so not an ORM, I guess
- Best domestic school, BEing, GMAT FE 695
Working experience: quite a job hopper due to the startup nature
- Ex- strategy consultant at a T2, top 5% performance for 2.5 yrs
- Started my own lending fintech, received seed fund from a banking-VC arm (<50K$, quite okay in the country but it's nothing on a US scale), closed after a year due to regulatory change, >500k$ loans issued
- Strategic Assistant to CEO: a telecom corporate VC, $2M in funding, did growth strategy/ expansion - 10 months
- Central Strategy Manager at a 4-countries-lending-tech: responsible for >$30M fundraise, biggest in the sector in the region - 4 months in
LOR: quite a prob:
- From my senior manager at T2, but she left to do her own advisory business, using personal mail
- From cto at a previous startup, I don't want to get LOR from current supervisors (4 months in)
Activities:
- Active member of 3 local startup communities, helping the government shape new startup policies
- Speaker at 4-5 local unis about financial knowledge and startup
- Led an impact project in my uni time, raised funding from a RE Private equity firm, closed after 6 months
Awards:
- Used to have several gov and national impact awards when I was running my own startup
Goal:
- To join a DFI post grad, or impact consulting in the Singapore, long term goal to re build startup again (replacing the one that I failed)
