Hi,
Profile review, please!
I'm currently studying for the GMAT and will start applying to Kellogg, Stanford, Harvard, Booth, MIT, Haas, and Wharton in the fall of 2024. I'd like to pursue entrepreneurship and innovation for my MBA. Depending on the scholarship and acceptance, I am open to both full-time and part-time MBAs.
QuestionsDo you think I have a decent shot at the school of my choice (listed above). It will be of immense help to me if you can categorize the schools as:
1. Not possible, forget about it!
2. Good Chance
3. Not at all easy but can be given a shot
Please also advise which other schools (not listed above) will help me achieve my career goals.

Specs: 25, female, Asian
Academics:- 3.4 GPA (at the time, I was working multiple part-time jobs unrelated to marketing and was also interning for marketing at a startup)
- B.A in Business Economics from a UC
- graduated a year early and spent a semester studying Aboard
Test scores: in the process of studying and will take the test in March
Work experience:
- 4 years of experience in marketing (I will have 5 years of experience by the time I start applying). I started with being a marketing generalist for a physical goods company and pivoted in product marketing in a medium-sized company in the last two years. I went from a Marketing Specialist to a Senior Marketing Associate and Product Marketing Manager. I have several revenue impacts and initiatives to show.
Extracurricular activities/Hobbies:
- High School: was very active; held multiple leadership roles including being president and VP for multiple clubs; also started my club; competed in multiple engineering competitions and won a few places.
- College: I was quite active freshman year, but wasn't that active during my last two years in college due to my part-time jobs and internship. But since I like sewing for fun and hope to pursue a business career in fashion in the future, I worked at the university's theater department as a Costume Designer Assistant for almost two years facilitating production, fitting, and scheduling for undergrad and grad students.
- Post-grad: volunteer at a local theater as a costume assistant; mentor 3 people (2 internally in the company and 1 externally) to pivot into product marketing and one got a job in product marketing; pursuing creative personal projects like designing and making a wedding dress for my sister, etc.; currently sponsoring a few middle and high school kids in Vietnam to go to school.
Other information relevant to your profile:
- financially independent at 19 and fully funded my tuition and expenses while studying aboard
- graduated at 20
- became a homeowner at 22 (for context, LA housing is very over the top)
- First-generation student
- I had a few small businesses growing up - most being selling custom art projects - raising $10K
- I currently don't have any business but I'm gathering ideas to start one this year. This time, I'm looking for something more strategic and not labor-intensive like those art projects I've done in the past.
Recs/Referral:
- 2-3 good rec from my current job
- I have 2 referrals (1 from a Booth professor and 1 from alumni) for Booth; I got the referral from the MBA professor because I sat in their MBA class.
Post-MBA goal:- short term - to have a startup in fashion or tech - ideally fashion tech

- long term - create a few charities to sponsor kids in 3rd world countries to school. To me, education is very important. My parents grew up during the war so they didn't have the chance to go to school, but growing up, they pushed and showed me the importance of how education can improve your life and help others.
