Hi Alex,
Request you to review my profile.
I am an IT professional female, working with a top US based Investment Bank, located in Mumbai, India. Age : 29 years. Total work ex : 5+ years now.
My job involves software development and support activities, a lot of business user interaction, team work and efforts to keep the system up and running smoothly.
I hold a Masters degree in Computer Applications. % in the Masters program is 59.42%. Somewhere in top 30% of the class.
In last 5 years of working with corporates,I have developed a keen interest in how corporations actually work. In the recession time of 2008, also was the one who suffered a lay off and was back on my feet in around a month by grabbing my current role, which has been a major positive change in my career and mindset. Human part of a profession, like human interaction, human-machine interaction, the ability to bounce back from a critical situation and do better each time fascinate me a lot. Avid risk taker, something like leaving my small town for a bigger and better degree has paid off pretty well.
Extra curricular wise, very strong in school level. Held a position like a GS in my school. Won many debating, essay writing, elocution competition in school and college level. Also held a batch of around 25 ppl in my first job, got awarded as a excellent leader in that batch. Also awarded for excellent work in my current role.
Now this all background leaves me with one question, will a top US school is a catch for me ? Read that HBS might not be because of the age factor. But how about others.
My husband is based in Singapore. So I might want to look at INSEAD and NUS. But US B Schools provide a global perspective and exposure. Usually the school I would do MBA from is the demographic location I would get for my first job. Should i aim for Booth, Yale or equivalent ?
This all provided I score a descent 700+ in GMAT, which I am appearing in august.
Appreciate your help in review very much.
Regards,
Bhakti
