Egmat sucks tbh

Personally for building concepts in Quant Manhattan works.
For concepts verbal Maghoosh is best.
But for practice only official guides and reviews.
TTP practice questions for quant are awesome as well.

For CR AND RC concepts GMAT Ninja YouTube videos.

For CR Karshims Ana prep YouTube videos.

B

B

if you take x2=81, you will get 2 values of x which will not give a definite answer

while the second option alone is sufficient because it creates two linear equations out of which the value of x can be determined

The value of y*

1. Average height = 74 X n/3 + 64 X 2n/3 / N
2. We don’t know N.
So, A is sufficient.

But in the second choice, we get that the sum of all heights is 178, so from that info, we can substitute the value of both the given sums in the first equation to get a definite answer

That implies that x = 1/3*(1/6*11), which results in x = 11/18.

For a simpler analogy, consider the statement x is twice as great as 12, which would imply x = 2 * 12. The concept is similar in the above case.

Thanks a ton. Sometimes your explanations make me angry that why couldn’t I come up with that explanation by myself.
