Yes I am well aware of the fact that i need to differentiate myself. But I have anchored specific Knowedge Management programs across my company and was responsible for showcasing the business potential of mid range computing to my Business Managers.

Also in my previous organization I had introduced several best practices in Knowledege sharing and initiated a Knowledge Management program which since then has been widely implemented across the org.

I have also played a key part of several other org. wide initiatives which have currently been implemented very successfully.

Hypothetically speaking if i do get admitted to a top B school what other skills/areas/roles and capabilities would I be expected to possess?

Regards,
Amrith

Once you get admitted the key becomes showing that you're absolutely passionate about consulting. This means learning about the different firms and how they view themselves. Learning about the case interview process and mastering that. Attending as many consulting events as possible and being able to network with current employees. Have some thought as to how you might be able to fit in with the firm(s) and be able to speak about how you would be able to add value to the firm(s). Join the consulting club. Speak with 2nd years who achieved internships at firms that you might want to work for.

Once you get into a top school, it's relatively easy to secure a strategy consulting firm offer (these days), assuming that you put forth an concerted effort from the beginning.
