Hi Paul,
I have profile 2.92/720/3.27 ug/gmat/grad scores. WE ~6 years when admit and from Eng back ground. I am trying to decide between Booth and Stern and would like to know which school you think i have a better shot at? I read that stern cares about GPA a lot while Booth might not put the emphasis on it as much? Thanks!

Hi shaselai,
I don't know that it's as simple as saying that one school cares and one doesn't. Nothing is ever that simple. I do know that both schools put premiums on metrics that are not GPA. Stern looks for resiliency and a certain "scrappiness" that is fairly unique and Booth cares about innovative community involvement more than any school other than probably Wharton. That said, the trait that is implicated by a low GPA is often maturity and focus, or lack thereof. I would actually say that Booth rates that as a more important attribute, although the difference would be minute.
The biggest advantage to Booth is that the school is fairly large, but without a gigantic applicant pool, so there tends to be more wiggle room than you see at most top programs.
At gunpoint, I would say your chances are probably better at Booth based on the very basic info provided, but the reality is that all the other factors (work experience, career goals, leadership, teamwork, involvement, etc.) will play a greater role in deciding which school you have the better shot at.
