A few of the letters of recommendation questionnaires i have seen are more or less the same - a grading scale of the applicant followed by some questions. Obviously I can't tell the person what grade to give me and to not write XYZ so what is there to "improve" on those letters and questions? I know my 2 sources are not gonna run me under the bus..

You may want to print out and give your recommenders "10 Tips for Recommenders." It will help them write meaty, substantive letters for you. In a nutshell, generalities and declarative statements come across as empty unless they are backed up by examples. The 10 tips encourage your recommenders to write recs that have the ring of authenticity to them, complement your essays, and add to your application as a whole.

also, for my current job's source, he is a very nice lead but we worked for a year directly and then we were on and off (a lot of projects). My other alternatives are managers but I have a good feeling that both would make my applying for B-school a common knowledge which is a huge red flag of me leaving... is the possibly better letter worth the risk?
