Hey guys,

Most schools that I applied to require only a self-reported score to be evaluated for interview/admission purposes. However, Cornell emailed me today to ask for an unofficial GRE score report (basically a report from ETS, a pdf file). I went ahead and e-mailed them the score report.

I am freaking out at this point, do all schools require an unofficial copy of the GRE for my application to be valid?

To clarify: I did NOT upload my unofficial score report. I just self-reported my scores

Hey MbaConfucius I don't think you need to be freaking out over this. Every school has different requirements but a good number accept self-reported scores until you are accepted or invited to interview for some. Check their websites under application requirements. Most will specify. Cornell asks you to upload an official score report with your application, but then says you can upload an unofficial report but they'll need an official before you matriculate. A good number (from my experience) say you just need to self-report until you are accepted.

Only one school I applied to required that unofficial report upload and am pretty sure it wouldn't let me submit without it. One might have required an official report (I sent many of my free reports to the schools I ended up applying to, so don't totally remember). The other schools accepted self-reported. Do some research if you need to put your mind at ease, but the unoffical report upload won't be a universal thing.
