Hi,

I have a question about recommenders. I can get the letters from both workplace as well as community service organization. Would it be better to get both the letters from work or one from work and one from community service?

There isn't a categorical, black-and-white answer to this. It depends on the individual candidate, his/her individual experiences, his/her relationships with each potential recommender, and so forth.

You do however want to avoid getting one from a recommender who is poker faced or one that you've had a bad romance with. And if you call them on your telephone and they're kinda busy, then you may want to find someone else.

Thanks, Alex. What do you think about getting both recommendation from workplace but one from manager and another from peer? This peer is actually one level above me but since I am working at that level (without getting promoted) she is like my peer. Please suggest if getting a recommendation from such a person would be appropriate or would it hurt my chances of admission.

"iF you think you can turn to both recommendations why dont you try to . So far nothing will be loose if u accept both workplace.The important thing is you are enjoying what you are doing then you have your enough time for the both workplace.
