Hi Linda-
I am a Philadelphia native (Cornell grad) currently working in Texas. I've travelled extensively across the US while working for Accenture, and spent 3 years in New York City before moving to Houston. My ideal goal would be to settle down with an investment management firm in Philadelphia.
My question is this: When I apply to Wharton, should I mention my true desire to stay in Philadelphia? Aside from all the other great reasons to want to go to Wharton, one of my foremost is my desire to go to school in my hometown, settle down there, and help its local economy grow and thrive (in whatever way I can).
Is this worth highlighting on the application? Would it help/hurt to mention this? I would think that the school would like to see more applicants that want to actually graduate and stay in Philadelphia, since so many move to NYC or the West Coast.....
Thanks.
