Hello,
I have been planning on applying to R3 of Darden and Cornell and would like to have some suggestion on whether it will be a good idea.
I am a female architect from India with a work ex of 5 years. I have been freelancing for 1.5 years. My GMAT score is 720 (V40 Q49).
I am somehwat desperate to start school in the fall of 2021, but if that's a totally ridiculous idea, I might wait it out and apply in the coming first rounds.
Please suggest about what I should be doing. Should I take a chance or wait it out.

General belief is if you dont apply it us always a NO. I don't think there is harm is applying but most US schools don't recommend international applicants to apply in R3 since it gives them less time to arrange this if admitted.
Also this year has been really tough due to last year deferrals.
I believe your best bet would be R1 for next intake but if you want to give a shot go ahead.

You have a good GMAT score for Darden and Cornell, but R3 is hard to break as the class spaces have already been filled by the potential candidates. In R3, adcoms are looking for those exceptional candidates who can bring diversity to the incoming cohort. One will make it to R3 if the profile is outstanding. If you’d like, you can read the article on Should International candidate go for round 3 application.This article will help you brainstorm your chances for R3.
