Reapplicants are not frowned upon by adcomms. But, like I mentioned earlier, it's not enough to simply re-apply next year with the same application. You need to achieve or show something new in the next 10-12 months. If you apply now and don't get in, then applying with the same story next year will almost certainly mean another ding.

Either way, it sounds like there are some holes in your application that you can address in the coming year. My advice is to apply to a couple of schools this year, and if you don't get in, work HARD on improving your app next year (I can't emphasize this enough -- don't apply to those schools again next year if you have nothing new to say), and expand your pool to several more schools to improve your chances.
