Alex,
I have taken my GMAT recently and got a score of 750 (Q47 - 77 percentile, V47 - 99 percentile, AWA 5.0). I have an undergraduate engineering degree from a large non-US university with average reputation. My grades in undergrad are average (including math courses). I do have excellent grades in math (and other) courses prior to undergrad. I am not satisfied with my score in the quant section and I feel that this fact when coupled with undergrad grades can hamper my candidacy. I am pretty sure that I can do at least 2 points better. On the other hand, I am satisfied with my overall score and especially verbal score since English is not my first language (but I have always been good with it). After my undergrad I went on to get a Masters degree from a top 25-30 US university (my GPA was around 3.5) and have been working in America for a couple of years now. I also have decent work experience as a student (in US). I have good extra-curriculars prior to grad school and only a little bit since then.
My question here is, should I re-take the test to show adcoms that I am better at quant than what my score suggests? My inclination is towards Strategy/Management/Tech Consulting and my prime targets are Wharton, Chicago and UVA.
Thanks!
