Hi,
I am currently deciding on my recom. and have the following question in mind:
Do you think the marketing finance manager(budget controlling manager) of my previous company who knows the financial impact of my work( I was a product/brand manager) is a good choice? I really did some good work that had very positive impact on the bottom line by increasing revenues and also cutting costs etc. , actually my performance got me transfered from the distributor to the parent company. Budget controlling manager knows every activity that I have done as his dept. was very much responsible for product profitability etc. and organized monthly meetings with marketing director and product managers to discuss the performance...
I intend to ask him to write one of my recommendations, the other one will be written by my current supervisor.
Any advice.

I think this finance manager is a good choice. It sounds like you're choosig him for the right reasons (he knows you well and can speak very specificlaly about your achievements). My one piece of advice is to make sure that he doesn't just talk about your accomplishments (like "boosted revenue by x%"), but also talks about HOW you achieved those things. That's what adcomms will be really interested in.
