Hey there,
1) Yes, but this isn't exactly advised. It calls your recommendations into question and that simply isn't a position you want to be in. See if you can work with HR to make an exception. Generally, they do and that really is your best option.
2) This is an emphatic no. Firstly, you can't do that - it gets mailed to their IDs directly - and secondly, no college will allow this. It violates the fundamental point behind the rec letters.
3) This depends. If you've been out of university for 2.5 years, a college recommendation is on the weaker side. I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to as a college guide - could you provide some more context?
4 - even though you didn't ask) 8 - 9 schools at this stage in the game is A LOT. Is there an opportunity to improve your target school list to bring that number down to something more realistic for both you AND your recommenders?
It seems you're in a place in the process where you have a lot of questions - don't hesitate to ask them! I'm happy to help!
