Hello,
Congratulations on getting your business up and running!
I consider you to be a
viable applicant to Cornell Johnson and Said – I believe they’d be reasonable reaches, with emphasis on “reasonable” – i.e., more challenging than on-par level, but not super high reaches either.
That said, there are some potential pitfalls. The main one is what you will do with the business during your MBA studies – these programs want you to be 100% involved in school and don’t expect students to be running a business “on the side” – giving that impression will hurt your application. So develop a plan for the business during your studies, something that might let you be involved peripherally or on a very part-time strategic level but not running business day to day.
Also, discuss last semester grades in an optional essay – just a brief, straightforward statement about why this occurred.
Finally, be specific about
your goals and aims for your company – don’t rely on generic phrases like “take it to the next level.”
You have some challenges, but also some impressive experiences and distinguishing factors. Good luck!
