Hello Experts
I am an Indian male having 3 years 6 months of experience (as of September 2014) in Business Development, Marketing and Brand Management.
I am an Engineer by education and have also completed PGDM (MBA equivalent) from a decent (top 20) B school in India. Though my GPA in both courses is not extra ordinary (~3-3.2) and could be a negative point.
After post-graduation, I have worked in the consumer products domain and my first job was in BD role with an Indian FMCG giant where I worked for an year and a half. Post this, I joined a very small organisation as an assistant Brand Manager and worked there on some exciting projects for 1 year. Since October last year, I have been working with a European MNC as a marketing manager where I am reporting to an expat.
I have been associated with a social sector NGO working in the poorest districts of Uttar Pradesh India. The NGO is working on Green Energy and livelihoods and I have spent considerable time with them on fund raising and program assistance over the last 3 years.
Now there are two issues (how I see them) with my profile: 1. average GPA in earlier education and 2. three jobs in three years!
My GMAT is scheduled for last week of October, and in the three mocks that I have attempted so far, I have scored 680, 700 and 720.
I request advise on three things:
- the courses where I can apply
- the intake which I can practically target
- what kind of help I can get from application consultants (and the costs associated)
One course that I've liked so far is the MBA in Marketing Research from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Apart from this, I will be glad if you can advise courses/ universities which could be within reach of a person with my background. My leaning is towards marketing courses and I would prefer a one year course, though two years is not a problem either.
Also, are the European B-schools: St Gallen, Mannhein and others within reach for someone with 3-4 years of experience?
Please let me know if I have missed sharing any information.
Thanks
