My idea is to first move in the e-commerce and information tech management world after MBA and then shoot for starting my own company. That's the reason, why I am looking at Stanford, Chicago and Michigan. I heard they are good in IT as well, although I might be wrong on that account as I haven't started doing my own research yet.

Stanford certainly is strong in the IT world, but it like HBS, seems to prefer younger applicants. HBS and Stanford are stretches given your age and weakness in community service. You are more competitive at the other schools on your list. Double check Chicago's and Michigan's strength in IT. I am sure that you can get hired at IT firms graduating from those schools, but I am not sure that relative to the schools I named, they are as good. Check the recruiting stats and the curriculum offerings.

Dartmouth has a Center for Digital Research and obviously is close to the whole Boston scene, so it does have strength in that area, plus it has a fantastic general management program. Again, you may want to research whether it has as much as you want in IT relative to the schools I mentioned.

Good luck!
