Hi guptaneha,

You stand a chance with a 700+, but a 700+ alone is not enough, as your applicant pool (software) at ISB is quite competitive. Lot of them apply with 730+, high GPA, or a degree from a reputed undergrad institution. So, in such cases, the test score ceases to be a pull factor for the schools.

Short answer: you’ve a chance, and you can maximize it by writing solid application.

Hi,

I am interested in applying for ISB this year.

Requesting a profile evaluation:

Gender/Nationality : Female/Indian
10th Percentage: 91.2%
12th Percentage: 86.6%
Graduation: B.Tech - 6.5/10 CGPA

GMAT 1st Attempt: 610 (Q47, V28, IR3, AWA5)
GMAT 2nd Attempt: 650 (Q46, V34, IR3, AWA5)

Work Exp: 7 years in IT.
-----------
worked as Senior Software Engineer/Consultant in two reputed IT MNCs.
Have worked in 6 projects so far in Finance/Telecom/Retail/Healthcare Domain.

Since I have worked majorly for Finance Clients, I am more inclined towards Finance.

Extra Curricular Activities:
------------------------------
Active participant in Cultural Activities in School. Active member of Arts committee of College Magazine.
No NGO or CSR experience.

I want to give another attempt to GMAT so as to increase my score to more than 680 at least to be in the competitive pool.
However, I have only a month to do so as I want to apply in R1 this year, to avail for Scholarships.

Request feedback on my profile.

Thanks.

Hi Neha

- While your magnitude and breadth of experience within IT are both good, as an IT applicant, you might struggle at a 650. A very strong application, and differentiation in ISB essay 1 in any case will be important. This will be important given that your college acads are somewhat average too.
- ECA are decent, not outstanding, but should work.
- As of now, we would suggest that you focus on an admit first, and scholarships as second priority. This means applying with a better GMAT score, and if this means pushing the app to R2, then so be it. If you can get to around 680 in time for R1, then apply in R1.

Hope this helps. Feel free to come back with more queries as needed.
