Hi there,
As the others mentioned, most R2 deadlines have passed at this point so you're really looking at R3 for this year. With that said, most schools in the US ask international candidates to apply in R1 or R2 due to the long lead times for visa processing and other legal matters. So for you, I would suggest seeing how Booth works out for you and if it doesn't, then re-calibrate your approach for R1 next year.
In terms of how you approach school selection, I would suggest focusing on programs that are best aligned with your career goals and choosing a couple of reach schools along with some target programs (you want to hedge your bets). It sounds like your post-MBA goals may be a bit broad right now so it could help to do a bit more research and think through what it is that you want to do more specifically and what the job opportunities look like post-MBA. For example, in tech alone, there are a variety of ways to join the industry - strategy/biz dev, product management/marketing, then finance, operations, etc. On the other hand, advertising (in the traditional sense) is not a common post-MBA path so if that's your goal, you'll want to get very specific about why you need an MBA to go down that path. Wherever you land, once you have a clear vision for the future, you'll be able to determine which schools make the most sense for you. For tech, a range of programs like Haas, Duke, UT Austin all make sense.
I hope this was helpful! If you'd like to chat further, I'm happy to do so! Either way, best of luck to you!
Kindly,
Melody
