Hi,

I would appreciate feedback on my profile.

25 y/o female from Southeast Asia.

GPA: 3.0
GMAT: 690 - Q43 (68%), V41 (92%)
Undergraduate business degree from a top school in my country

WORK EXPERIENCE
A little less than a year as operations research analyst in a fast food company
Moved to a bank, where I have been employed for almost 4 years now. Have rotated through various roles:
- Marketing – ran campaigns/acquisition programmes for about 6 months
- Sales distribution / management – 2 years, monitoring sales activity, managing commissions, tracking product profitability (during my second year in this team, was promoted twice)
- Strategy – 6 months
- Finance – 6 months
The last two assignments are the result of a number of re-organizations within the division.

EXTRA CURRICULARS
- fencing team captain (university-level)
- have been involved in various community activities, especially those aimed at supporting and working with children
- member of the (company) chorale

My goal is a career in consulting.

What are my chances of getting into INSEAD?
Given the low percentile score, is there a need for me to retake the GMAT?
How can I address any other gaps in my profile?

Thank you in advance!

kf13,

Sorry for the delayed response. INSEAD is a tough school to get into, but the fact that you are female and from Southeast Asia greatly helps your odds. Your GMAT score is probably good enough, but if either your quant or your verbal score is significantly below the 80th percentile you may want to retake. Your career profile looks good (not great), and your extracurriculars seem OK to solid. I think your odds at INSEAD will hinge on how much leadership (and impact as a leader) you can highlight in your essays. If there isn't a lot there, that will hurt you. Certainly, you seem competitive enough at INSEAD to give them a shot; I would not discourage you from applying there. Just understand that it may be a semi-"reach" school for you.

Good luck,
