Hi

I have a total of nine years (i am 33 years old, female) of experience in the Indian healthcare industry in various management and consulting roles.
The firms I have worked for have been tertiary care hospitals, Goldman Sachs as well the Mercer group.
My bachelors degree is in Biotechnology ( Bangalore- India) while my masters is in Hospital and Healthcare administration from Tata institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai.
My GPA throughout has been between 3.2 and 3.5. My gmat score after a month of prep was 500 sans systematic preparation.

Since Quant is not my strength, I was wondering if I should give the gmat or the gre and what my ideal score should be.
I am looking at mba courses in either Singapore or Australia.
My goal out of the mba program is to give me that impetus in my career which I think is stagnant.
My family moved to Sydney recently and given the covid situation I dont have a job at the moment. I hence thought this might give me some headway into the kind of jobs am looking for ( healthcare business roles, consulting, insurance etc )

I was also looking for some insights on what my overall profile looks when compared to the cohort I represent.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Varsha,

The GMAT is the gold standard for MBA admissions. However, there are reasons to contemplate between the GRE and GMAT, such as in your case.
Overall the GRE may be easier particularly in the Quant section, and may help you get a desired score. If you don't have your hands full at the moment, we would suggest that you take a practice test of each of GRE and GMAT, and decide for yourself.
With a decent amount of practice, you should be able to ace Quants.

Healthcare sector is booming, and there is demand for professionals in at least a couple of functions including medical devices, analytics, etc. With a good GRE/GMAT score, you should be able to make it to a leading B-school.
Since you don't have a job on hand at the moment, you can look out for short term opportunities such as internships. These will add weight to your profile.
