Dear All,
I know GMAT Club is an amazing platform with lots of helpful people. I've learnt a lot form many of you. I need a help from the experts at GMAT Club to select right b school for me. I'm going to take the GMAT in next couple of weeks. We all know that before the start of the GMAT exam a candidate can can select up to 5 B Schools to send the score. I've created an extensive list but not sure which 5 to select in my exam. I would appreciate if you could help me to narrow down my selection to 5 B Schools.
I'm an Indian national with 6+ years of work experience into IT Services and Management Consulting as Software Tester, Developer and Business Analyst. I hold a bachelors in computer science and an MBA from decent Indian Universities. I also have a two weeks' of study certificate from Nanyang Business School on Entrepreneurship and Tech Venture Creation. I'm a failed entrepreneur who worked on his own venture for a period of 6 months. Along with my full time 6+ years of work experience, I've also worked for a technology based education startup for 1.5 years. My current core skills are in the area of Business Analysis and Analytics.
I know it might sound weird that why I want to go for an other MBA. The simple reason is to create a amazing tech product either by starting my own venture or by working for a global startup. I want to learn more about entrepreneurship, technology, analytics, product management, strategy, global business, general management etc in my other MBA from one of the top b schools. I'm not focused on a specific area of business such as marketing or finance, or an MBA that helps to fetch a corporate job rather than unleashing true entrepreneurial skills. As I already have a decent educational background and work experience, I'm looking for ONLY ONE YEAR program that focuses more on execution. I'm also considering only those b schools that can provide a scholarship of at-least 50% of tuition fee. I understand that scholarship is personalized evaluation - I have already done a decent research on this but your inputs would definitely help. I'm expecting a GMAT score of at least 700.
In short, I need your help to suggest me 5 b schools based on below criteria -
Program Type: One Year MBA.
Course: General Management, Technology, Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Strategy.
Scholarship: 50%+ of Tuition Fee
Location: North America or Europe.
Thanks everyone for your time and help in advance. If anyone else has a case similar to mine and would like to collaborate for application analysis and planning, please feel free to message directly.
Kind Regards,
Neelesh, India.
Given what you want to do after your MBA it would make sense to look into the schools that offer MBA programs with a specialization in entrepreneurship. You can see the latest rankings for those programs here:
https://aringo.com/mba-entrepreneurship-specialization/Of course you aren’t going for a full time MBA program, so you would want to cross reference that list with the recent ranking for one year programs, you can find that here for example:
https://aringo.com/mba-1y-one-year-programs/Some of the schools are the same in both lists, like Olin, that ranks as no 1 for entrepreneurship according to US News but also has a one year program, for example. And the same goes for MIT, IMD and INSEAD, so I think those would be good options for you, as least as far as starting your research into suitable schools for you.
