Hello there kind sir! :)

Thank you very much for responding to my request.

As for volunteer work i have few other things i can use,but not much.So i need to work on this aspect of my application.

Also, i agree with you on the school range(10-30) i should target.I have been looking through the websites of some schools to come up with a draft list of colleges to apply to.As of now this is what i have: (Btw, i am filtering out schools based on my post MBA goal of Consulting)

Very ambitious:
- INSEAD
- Kellog

Ambitious but might be able to hack it given the right inputs and stellar apps:
- Duke
- Ross
- Darden
- Tepper

Within reach:
- Goizuetta
- Kelly
- McCombs

Can you please comment on this draft list i have prepared. For all i know, i may be completely off in my perception of the difficulty of getting into these schools.

Thanks!

Regards,

Shashank

Hey there Shashank (like the redemption?),
So I pretty much agree with your list, and the way you have set it up. The only two questions are: How many schools do you want to apply to? and 2: What about schools where you have GOOD chances of getting in? (in the more 20-30 side of the rankings - like Foster, Olin) I would feel more comfy with a strategy that had at least one school there.

And I'd say although it's a long shot - try INSEAD. Your strength matches up to their strength and they might like you for that.

Best of luck!
Jon

Hey there Jon(like the Don?) :)

Thank you very much for your comments.

As for the number of schools to apply to, i plan to do 4 of them in Round 1 with a good mix of ambitious and reach schools.Thereafter based on the results of round 1 i would plan for round 2. But i think 6 schools should be a good enough given i don't get dinged at all of them in which case i will have to rethink my strategy.

Ans yes, i do plan to have atleast 1-2 schools in my list(20-30 ranked schools) for some cushion and also to factor in the scholarships.Lets say 1-2 from Olin/Foster/McDonough/Mendoza ?

INSEAD is the dream and i will definitely apply to it.Lets see how it goes.

Thank you again.

Hello Redeemer!
;)

Sounds like you've got your plan all worked out there. I like, and you just go for it. If you can squeeze in 1-2 more schools in R2, that would be awesome, but 6 schools is a good solid number.

Now, all you need to do is write six+ applications…
:)

Best,
Jon
