I've been accepted into Rice without any scholarship, which was somewhat surprising to me since I knew that they give out quite a lot for the size of their school. I was also given a full ride from UTD.
Normally Rice would be the no-brainer, but I'm saving on rent living with my parents in Dallas, and on top of that would need to pay 100k+ at Rice vs free tuition at UTD. I have business connections in Dallas as well to consider, though I wouldn't say they are particularly extensive yet.
I really want to go to Rice, but the cost (high) is something that I would need to justify. I've reached out to a 2nd year in Rice MBA about this topic, and will likely reach out soon to the committee to try to negotiate something, but of course there would be no guarantee. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, assuming that I don't get a scholarship for Rice?
