Hi everyone!
Need your advice. I was admitted both to Tepper and Ross. I am a career changer, so after MBA I see myself in finance field and I want to work for hedge fund. Even though both schools are not typical finance schools, I have to choose. Ross has a good ranking in US news ranking in finance MBA and overall ranked higher than Tepper, while Tepper attracts me with small class size, Pittsburg location and that it produced significant number of Nobel laureates in Economics.
Most important, after my graduation I want to find job in US and gain some US experience before returning to my country. So the chosen school should also affect my chances of getting US job.
So what do you think? What is the better option?

Ross - voting with both hands.
Ross is much better known domestically and internationally.
Pittsburgh - while I do personally like it, many consider it a slow, secondary city/town. I never knew the fact that you brought up - that Tepper MBA contributed the most people to Nobel prize in Economics.

Put down your phone right now and go withdraw from Tepper. I am vehemently campaigning for Ross here.
Yes, not a typical Finance School, however Ross is known for being really strong across all areas and also their action learning, so you might get a lot out of it anyways. Class sizes are large, but I have a feeling that the people who go there make it feel a lot smaller. In terms of ranking, you should pay attention to that because it does impact the recruitment situation. Ross alums are present around the world as Bb mentioned, so that's going to give you a feeling ofvsecurity getting out of business school and Beyond. The alumni factor is extremely strong for Ross, and the international factors also very strong. I think Ann Arbor might grow on you eventually, the closest community coolege town feel of that you might like better than Pittsburgh eventually anyways. Also I really like the new leader at Ross, I think that he's going to really take that school in a positive direction and it's going to increase the brand value of that degree.
