Thanks a lot for your book (I am sticking with it, although I arleady got accepted)! Even thought it is an MBA guide, its also a great guideline to interviewing and other carrer related stuff in general.
I am a young applicant (half year of post college full time WE), but I just got admited to Ross. They also gave me 20k per year (40k total) of scholarships. I am little curious to ask you what your opinion is as to:
1) how popular are $ give aways among elites/ultra elites? what % of class in Michigan or any other top school gets some $ (minimum of 10k per year or so)
2) what are the scholarships based? high gmat + gpa, WE, esseys, diversity, mix?
My profile: Polish, 750, 3.9, little known college, 6 years of international educational experience, enterprenuer/family company
3) I assume that 20k per year at Elite school is a medium size scholarship? Am I right?
I am just trying to figure out how much they want me, because I need to make some decisions soon.

In general now's the time to worry about how bad you want them not the other way around but...
You've made out well. About 40% of full-time MBAs at Ross who apply for assistance receive scholarships. Of those who receive scholarships 20k is slightly better than average. At other elite schools the percentage who receive is probably higher, but the packages those patients receive is probably lower.
They look at all the attributes that you noted.
In general now's the time to worry about how bad you want them not the other way around but...

I was wondering about those stats from BW online. On one hand they say that the average scholarship for Michigan is almost 20k. On the other hand they give the total amount of $ that was distributed to MBAs last year ($2,6 mln). According to the website around 33% of all students gets cash, so thats 280 (140 per class). So it comes to around 10k per year.
Therefore, would it mean that the 20k average scholarship is the total for both years? What you think?
