I am a 2005 US graduate, from Arizona State University, with a chemical engineering degree with 2.57 GPA, Its been 4 years since i have graduated, and working in oil & gas company as a process engineer. The company's scope is basically to provide energy domestically and internationally.
I am so interested in studying business, I have been exposed into different & interesting world since i have started to work with the company. And now i am prepared for studying MBA in UK this year, by making a hard GMAT study through GMAX online.
The problem is I think that I have to get a high score in GMAT to compensate all the lacks i have in my undergrad degree, in same time, i have to have an admission soon to start the buisness school on Aug or Sept. So, what are the recommendations regarding the time limit, & school in UK near to London city. In addition, i am thinking to start the process at the end of March. In same time, my country has granted me a free scholarship to any U.K. school.

Hi I'm Abhishek from India.
I will have completed my Medicine by May 2010 . We are supposed to do an internship for an year before we are given our degree. I wish to know if my medical internship is considered as work experience?
I plan to give GMAT in Oct 2010.
I have 60% graduation percentage.
My class X- 83 %
Intermediate -(pre med school) - 94 %

My extra circular background is as follows.
Organizing college events , participating in debates, Part of College based community development organization for 3 years . Currently the treasurer of internship association. Conducted several blood donation programs, pulse polio immunization programs. Worked for the HIV/AIDS awareness programs. Represented my college in Tennis in Inter college competitions.
Also worked part time for a Multi-level Marketing(MLM Akin to Amway) company for 3 months in 2nd year.
Plan to work as an administrator in my father's hospital after my internship.
I wish to apply for 2011 August admissions in the USA. I have heard many schools in the US look for diversity amongst their students.
Do i stand a chance to get into the top 20 - 50 programs in the US with a good GMAT score?

The schools will certainly consider your internship. However, the question is how competitive in total your experience is going to be when compared to other applicants. Frankly it is weaker than many. At th same time, if you have a good GMAT score, I think you would have a chance in the top 20-50 programs. make the most of the organizational and business-related experience that you have had.

Will it work positively if i get a good GMAT score say 680 ??

A 680 is a competitive score at most programs ranked between 20-50, but it is not the only factor in the admissions process. Don't fixate on the GMAT. The MBA admissions process is multi-faceted, subjective, and not determined solely by your GMAT score.

Thanks for your invaluable suggestion .
I would definitely try to look for all round development including my organizational capabilities and i hope a competitive GMAT score could be an edge for me .

During my 3 month stint at the MLM company , i contributed 170,000 INR to the company.(directly contributed to 700,000INR ) .It requires convincing people to join the company , each person paying 7000 INR. I personally convinced 100+ people and total number of people under me is 250.
I worked part time for the company , so would it be considered as a good contribution and is it worth mentioning.?

MLM has a somewhat negative connotation here, so I am not sure you would want to make a big deal of it. You might, and you might now. You need to weigh up all the possibilities. Also 3 months of work several years ago is not as valuable as something more long-term and recent.
