Additionally (and I know I'm risking "who cares?" thoughts by stating this), the bike in my avatar is an Aprilia RXV, the first V-twin motocross / enduro competition bike. I'm into bikes and I'm particularly fond of Aprilia since I owned an '89 one which I used to travel in West Africa back in 2005 (and she never let me down).

rhyme: The story made it to my resume as 1 liner. It did make it into some essays, as well, although not all of them (not quite in line with the requirements on some of them).

If I remember correctly you worked with the BBC on some documentaries, so I would not say your lifestyle is so boring. And even if you hadn't done so, I'm sure it's not been boring. Different, definitely. Boring, I wouldn't know.

The Aprilia was an '89 Tuareg. And it lived up to its reputation (i.e.: the electrics failed completely after 10 days on the road). I had had several parts fabricated locally from other bikes parts, so it was kind of a daring proposition. Luckily the bike had a dual electric and kick start so I managed to get back home. If anyone's been to the region, you'll know that having no horn is actually not very funny in some big cities...

Lone wolf. All my biker friends (all 2 of them!) preferred to spend Xmas back home rather than on the road, so I went alone. Actually, now that you brought it up, I prefer solo travelling. You just have to agree with yourself that way. The freedom of this kind of travelling is the beauty of it. And in a group, not so free.

Machu Picchu? I guess we could head there some time. Although before that I'll need:

1) an Admit :!:
2) Prepare my current bike for the trip.
3) Ride from home to Machu Picchu by bike and meet you there.

cycle cat clip ons (the stock ones were a joke, as any review will tell you)

aluminum brake and clutch canister covers

gold anodized cluth, front and rear brake reservoir covers

Termignoni exhaust, complete system, with new chip

You ride a 3-series beemer. We all know that. However, I think you should consider buying a Ducati to go with your Italian nationality. I'd recommend a Monster. The 748S can be a bit hairy from what I've read.

I have no pictures. Unluckily, my photo camera had broken not long before the trip, I was quite cash constrained and I preferred at the time to take the cash along for contingencies rather than spend it on a new camera. There are basically no ATMs in the region, so I had to rely on whatever cash I had with me.

Pelihu - So then Porterhouse and Elihu will be travelling with you if you end up moving for b-school?

It will depend on where i go to school. Berkeley or Stanford, we're already here. I could take them with me to UCLA or Michigan because I have enough friends in both locations. My real concern is what to do if I need to fly out of town, which I think might happen often, especially during the first year. I don't want to kennel them, so if I don't have friends in the area I can leave them with, I can't take them.

I have been acclimating them to my parents house (who live nearby). They know how to get in and out, where to do their business, where not to go, etc. They are completely housebroken and have no bad habits so they can live with almost anyone.

I'm thinking if I secure a job offer after a summer internship, I might take them with me for a fun second year.

Just think A-A-U. Drop the rest of it. Some words are meant to be seen and not pronounced. Like when you read Tolstoy if you don't know how to pronounce Russian names. I mean, who actually pronounces those in your head if you can't say 'em? I just memorized them like little pictures made from letters.

awesome!..I love Oasis.... one of my favorite bands of all time...

For one of my essay questions (georgia tech), I was asked to name four people I would invite to a dinner party and why......yup......I invited Noel Gallager (an absolutely incredible and gifted songwriter). I also invited Stevia Ray Vaughn, Hendrix, and James Taylor..they all shaped my abilities as a musician and songwriter..

I'm a huge guitar geek...been playing since I was 10... I play a lot of acoustic shows around town w/ friends.. I always sneak in a couple of oasis covers...
