Additionally (and I know I'm risking "who cares?" thoughts by stating this), the bike in my avatar is an Aprilia RXV, the first V-twin motocross / enduro competition bike. I'm into bikes and I'm particularly fond of Aprilia since I owned an '89 one which I used to travel in West Africa back in 2005 (and she never let me down).

PS: ok, I could really, really, really, really use an admit right now. I'm losing it.
we'd say who cares if it was boring, but it's quiet interesting. Please tell us what you were doing in West Africa? motoX? Is it like Paris-Dakar type of thing? Any pictures?
What I did is usually called "Adventure Motorcycling" or some other labels. I basically went on holidays on my bike. I crossed 4 countries, rode about 1,000 miles and then came back home, 15 days later and with lots of stories to tell. Most of the riding was on tarmac, although I did venture into some sand for fun (but I did so without luggage and reducing tire air pressure). I have no pictures. Unluckily, my photo camera had broken not long before the trip, I was quite cash constrained and I preferred at the time to take the cash along for contingencies rather than spend it on a new camera. There are basically no ATMs in the region, so I had to rely on whatever cash I had with me. I did take my video camera instead, but ended filming only about 10 minutes throughout the whole trip.
I did some MotoX in the UK, at the KTM training centre in Devon, but that was way before the trip and I did so as training.
Additionally, while it may sound interesting, the trip was nothing compared to the dozens (maybe hundreds?) of London - Cape Town or Alaska - Ushuaia trips being done by bike every year. In case you are interested, go check this forum:

You'll be surprised by posts such as: "Is Congo still at war right now? How's the border crossing?".
