Now, Helg is a Scandinavian male name (you must know the more widespread female version - Helga) from which my real-life Russian name originates.

The u-pic you see is an inspiring war-time poster I happen to like very much for its ambiguity.

BHAHAHA

Someone remind me... was Oasis the group that did that song Wonderwall? Goes something like "you're my wonderwall"... starts off, i think, "today is gonna be the day, that something..." Or was it "whats the story morning glory?"

Cause if so, wow, I didn't know they had more than one album :)

BWAHAHAHA

" Indeed, for those willing to trawl through cyberspace, there exist bootleg MP3s of Yorke sneering Wonderwall with magnificent venom. It's an example of Radiohead's often-overlooked sense of humour."

The very same. Their album before wonderwall (definitely maybe) was very good - raw, wanting success band. Morning Glory, the one with Wonderwall, was quite good - a band happy at getting success. The four or five after that have been as good an example as any of cocaine ruining a band.

They are still pretty big outside the US, but their best times are long since gone. Almost a parody of their former self, they have worked their way to having replaced nearly every member bar the core brothers twice, and now have members of bands they liked in the early 90s as members.

Sorry Oasis, don't mean to get too down on them, but I live in the UK, so can't escape them.

I actually think some of their best stuff came out after 1997..(be here now, the B-sides album, etc.)..the last album was really good...

I can totally see how then rub people the wrong way...they are probably the most self rightous, pompous, arrogant band out there..

Oasis is really your favorite band?@!?!??!

I have been a fan since Live Forever was released in 1994....

Seen them in concert 7 times, bought every single, every album etc.

awesome!..I love Oasis.... one of my favorite bands of all time...

For one of my essay questions (georgia tech), I was asked to name four people I would invite to a dinner party and why......yup......I invited Noel Gallager (an absolutely incredible and gifted songwriter). I also invited Stevia Ray Vaughn, Hendrix, and James Taylor..they all shaped my abilities as a musician and songwriter..

I'm a huge guitar geek...been playing since I was 10... I play a lot of acoustic shows around town w/ friends.. I always sneak in a couple of oasis covers...

talk tonight..
go let it out
slide away..
the masterplan..
live forever.
Aquiece (spelling?).. love this song!!.. (i always loved it when noel / liam exchanged vocal duties)
Wonderwall
Stand by Me (love the harmonies)
Cast no shadow (more harmonies!)

So many good tunes by this band..

My screen name 'Amorica' is derived from my favorite band, The Black Crowes. Its the name of their 3rd album..

Its nice to meet another fan - Oasis fan's have always been rare in the US.

Did you see the Crow's and Oasis when they toured together?

Great choices of cover songs by the way, and I agree - when Noel and Liam split vocal duties it is awesome. I wish they would do it a little more often.

Well it hasnt been fun to watch Oasis go from being one of the biggest bands in the world to a band that isnt as relevant - however I think they have put together a very strong lineup of musicians and their last album was pretty strong.

Will they ever be the band they were from 94-97? No, but are the Rolling Stones as good as they used to be? I saw Oasis on their last tour when they sold out Madison Square Garden...for a band that isnt popular in the US that is a pretty big deal. They have a very loyal following and honestly I wouldnt want them to be as popular as U2 or other bands that get played out on the radio and MTV. At least they still remain special to their fan base which is enough for me.

If you havent listened to them in a long time, and you are a fan of rock - I highly recommend them. They have come a long way from the days of Wonderwall - less pop and more rock. As far as live performances go they are up there with the best.
