First off, is any of this information considered confidential? It probably is, and if so, I would be very careful in divulging the details. If there are valuable experiences you'd like to share, you may want to consider sharing the skills that you've picked up or applied in your work. However, if these are things haven't quite started yet, and this is only something you're forecasting, it may be best to just leave it off. Best of luck with R2 at HBS!

Yes, most people in our company don't even know that we have started the process. However, I've talked to the CEO and CFO and they are okay with me mentioning this in my application if it would help. I work at a startup, so I thought mentioning this could add legitimacy to my company's standing in the eyes of the adcom. Based on your response, I might mention it in very general terms? Something along the lines of...

Based on favorable valuation forecasts, Company X has engaged an investment bank to sell the business within 6-8 months. My role will be populating the data room and working with the bank in crafting a compelling company narrative. This information is confidential, and is being disclosed to HBS with the permission of the CEO and CFO.

Thoughts..?

Anything you can write that makes your company more impressive, makes you more impressive.
Go for it.

Best,
Jon

Yes, the more general you keep it, the better in this case but this sounds good to me!
