Hello - I am finalizing my resume for my part-time MBA applications which I'm planning to submit by the end of this month (Jan 2025). As the title indicates, I was recently promoted to VP as of 12/23/24 and am curious how to reflect this on my resume. Given MBA resume's are supposed to be more 'impact' focused, I realistically don't have anything I can include under the new job title since I will have only been a VP for ~1 month at the time of submission. I've attached my initial idea on how to still reflect the promotion on the resume, but would love to hear the thoughts of others.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hello jordanfan023,

The Admissions Committee will understand that you have only recently been promoted and it is, therefore, difficult for you talk about any real impact.

Just go ahead, add the designation, and include a couple of bullets on what you do or are responsible for; that should be ok.

Good luck!

Hey jordanfan023, it’s completely reasonable to not have significant accomplishments to share from a recent promotion. Please don't worry, you can give a brief overview of your current responsibilities. Good luck!
