Nice! Seems like a positive development. What online media tool did you use? SlideShare? Reason why I ask is b/c I used slideshare but don't know how to find that type of detailed metric... Good luck!

Under your upload, go to"view data analytics">>Click the tab "recent"

You should be able to see how many times your ppt was viewed and what location it was viewed from. Hope this helps!

Nice. Was beginning to wonder if the optional materials had any appreciable relevance to the app in general. Did you do a video or ppt?

I did a PPT (infact shamelessly uploaded my Booth PPT :P ). It was four slides - but was viewed for a good 14 min 34 sec. So whoever it was, he/she did look at it seriously.

 You're not alone. Mine has yet to be viewed... Oh well, I'm sure they'd get to it.

I shared the PPT (in PDF format) on dropbox, didn't use slideshare. So I can't track anything :( Anyway, interviews are expected to start rolling out next week right?

FROM Sloan Admissions Blog: MSMS Application Deadline Reminder
It has been a chilly few weeks here in Cambridge! Our Admissions Team is (trying to) stay warm and staying busy with reading MBA and MFin applications and conducting MFin interviews. We are almost ready to send out the MBA R2 interview invitations – check back for an upcoming post with exact dates and details. MFin interviews are underway, and we’ve met incredible candidates so far. Next week, a few of us will be traveling to Shanghai and Paris to meet additional MFin applicants. The MSMS application deadline is quickly approaching – it is next Wednesday, February 5.

For those of you preparing an MSMS application, please remember a completed application consists of:

Resume, Two Essays, Three Recommendation Letters, Academic Records (Transcripts), and Test Scores

In addition, here are some important reminders on a few aspects of the application process:

  • Finalize your Recommenders. Be sure to fill out the recommender section of your application so your references may work on their letters. You may submit your application before your recommenders have submitted their letters, however, your three letters of recommendation must be turned in by the February 5th deadline.
  • Submit Early: We encourage you to submit your application before the application deadline so any potential issues can be addressed in a timely manner.
Do not hesitate to reach out to our Admissions Team if you have any final questions about your MSMS application.

We look forward to reading your applications, and meeting more interviewees on campus and on the road!

Has everyone's optional material already been seen (those that can check)? Do you think MIT will view everyone's regardless of the rest of their app? Getting a little worried that mine has not yet been looked at and interviews are about to begin!

Mine was viewed Tuesday. Some others had been viewed as early as early last week. Hoping its in no way an indicator of candidacy. I'm sure they will get to yours.

So, I saw that I'm not the only goof out there and someone else didn't realize that they could have put a link to a video or slideshow (makes me feel a little better.) Anyways, did anyone out there get an interview without doing a video or link and just writing an essay to address GPA and things like that?

Let me know. I feel like I completely shot myself in the foot and have no chance left... so frustrating. I can handle rejections when I try my best but feeling like I'll get rejected cause I wasn't my usual meticulously anal self... ugh

Hello friend,

I think there was a round one applicant in this thread who said he did not do the optional information and got admitted :)
So don't be sad, maybe it's going to work for your advantage :)

If there are any veterans in this forum, Sloan will be having a prospective students day for veterans on April 17th (Easter is on Sunday April 20th, Patriots Day is April 21st). Current and former Sloanie vets/civilians and admissions representatives will be available for you to talk to. There will also be a campus tour and a class visit. We will also have a cocktail hour later in the afternoon with plenty of first and second year Sloanie Vets. Hard times to follow, PM me if you are interested or have questions.

Last I heard, it's supposed to start in mid-February. So that's another week or two.

Mine was viewed in mid-January. Hopeful for a positive response in the next 2 weeks.
