Hi all

I had a query regarding optional essay. I plan to debrief my motivations for career in the same and chart that path out. This will also mean that i will mention resources at MIT which i think are suited to meet the goal. Do you guys think thats a good strategy given that MIT is not goal focussed so to say ?
Will it work against my app to take this part of the essay like a more traditional MBA essay ?

Help please !!!

Just finishing the R2 application here.
One quick question: I'm having a lot of trouble getting my transcript files within the 600kb limit on the online forms.
As an international applicant I have 4 page transcripts + translations.

I've split them into separate PDFs but didn't want to spread the same transcript or translation into multiple files.
(I`ve also tried compressing, putting them in greyscale, etc..)

Any thoughts on how to get smaller file formats?

Thanks

Hi Sloan applicants, a stupid question. I can't see the essay and resume option on the left hand pane of the observation, so not sure where to upload them. Was planning to complete the application in one go.

Could someone please tell me if there is some technical glitch or i am making a mistake somewhere.

Thanks

Sloan does not have separate tabs for that. On the left side of the application, you will find the "MBA Applicant only" tab. You can upload your resume and essays there.

It's an optional essay and I've seen many folks do different things and get in. With that said, one thing you want to avoid is to make them think that you took an essay from another school and just put it there, which you might give that impression if you just treat it like a traditional MBA essay.

When filling the application I have an issue with GPA indication.
I graduated from institution with markes on 100grade.
So I skip "GPA for graduates of institutions wth 4.00 Scale" textbox, and put my XX GPA on the field for "graduates of institutions other than 4.00 - scale". Then I choose "the scale of 100" in the "scale" drop-down list.
However, in application PDF-file I see my XX GPA above "US-only GPA" field, and the fields for International GPA and scale are empty.
How to overcome this problem or should I just ignore it?

I've heard from students that Sloan really doesn't care what your career goals are - they figure there's a good chance your goals will change, so they only want to know if you've got what it takes to to succeed in their program. That's why everything about the Sloan application is behavioral based and why they don't really ask the typical Why an MBA? What do you want to do post-MBA? Why Sloan? questions.

Might be a good idea to consider if your career goals essay demonstrates anything to Sloan that you've got the "right stuff" - otherwise you might want to think about using the optional essay for something else. Just my two cents though! Good luck!

Does anyone if exceeding the word count of 500 is a big no-no in the eyes of Adcom? I'm ~40 words over the 500 max on both essays, but they are each under one-page. Thanks a lot everyone! Best of luck.

Hope someone can help enlighten me on this! I have a question about their Resume Template: One page in length (up to 50 lines). Does that include blank lines? Because 50 lines including blank lines only go up to 4/5 of a page with their font size. With their Times New Roman, Font Size 10, there are 63 lines on 1 page.

Also, do we need to put in our GPA in their resume template?

Hi,

I just wanted to ask if those of you who have submitted already the application received a reminder about today deadline.

I submitted the application weeks ago but still I got a notification today. Do they send the reminder to everyone?

Thanks!

Candidates will be invited to interviews by email up until the decision deadlines.
