Hi all. I am currently debating between Cox and Neeley's full time MBA program and could really use people's opinions.

A bit of background on me is I am originally from Texas and have 3 years of work experience on the east coast in sales and financial planning. Through the MBA program I am looking at transitioning into consulting and understand the importance of rankings and the companies that recruit at both of the schools. That said, with Neeley I have a full ride and Cox has offered 25k total. Thoughts? I know Neeley's consulting program is not overly developed but I loved the vibe, community, and culture when I visited. With SMU I love the competitive feel and intrigued with the companies that recruit... but also worried about the loans.

Thanks in advance~

Note: I've also had ONLY good feedback from TCU students/ alumni. With Cox students I've heard some aren't very happy... that also concerns me a bit.

You and I are legitimately in the exact same boat and I have no idea what to do. SMU has more prestige for sure - but I live in the NE and no one has heard of it (originally from TX also).

I can't decide if i could make up the difference over my lifetime - just by going to one program vs. the other.

Thanks.

From what you typed, it seemed like you were really feeling TCU more, especially when factoring in its cost of $0. If the Cox brand is basically the only thing you really find alluring about SMU, then it seems like a relatively easy decision to me - go TCU.

I was also accepted to TCU and enjoyed the laid back feel Neeley has, so I'm right there with you on that. Plus, I dug the campus and the community that surrounded it, much more so than SMU.

Hello! I was in your exact same position a year ago, and I opted for TCU. If you haven't made your decision yet and you think it will help, I would be happy to talk with you about how I came to my decision. Additionally, I have a colleague who decided on SMU who I can put you in touch with. Feel free to reach out to me at c.e.franklin@tcu.edu. Thanks!

I graduated from TCU's MBA program and received a great offer from a great company. I was given a full-tuition scholarship at TCU and a $40K one at SMU. SMU has a better campus and a bigger alumni network HOWEVER - Go with TCU, especially if you don't have to pay for it. The program is improving and you can get a great job. Do it.

Hey there, I was also in the same situation as you, with full tuition from TCU and $25k from SMU. I ended up choosing TCU because of the same reasons that it seemed like you are leaning that way. The atmosphere was outstanding and the culture seemed like one meant to really develop students.

Best of luck with your decision and hope to see you in the fall in Fort Worth!
