I called the admissions office on Monday and apparently they will continue to communicate decisions until the end of next week. Seems to take longer this year ;)

Where are you from dimissio?

Hy LL18, congratulations for getting in!

As far as I'm aware of, there's no real deadline to accept/reject. The admission mail stated that they would assume you accepted to join if there's no rejection notice from you. So while there wouldn't be any direct consequences if you reject the program a couple weeks/months later, there may be some substitute candidates who would be notified if someone rejects the program around these days. So, I would recommend you not to take that much time in case you may reject; but still it's completely up to you.

By the way, did any of you guys get any "supplementary work"? I was quite surprised to get Finance, Marketing and European Economic Law. I've taken more than 4 finance and 6 marketing based courses, including introductory ones at my current university, so I really didn't get why that was necessary. I completely understand the European Economic Law part, since I didn't study in Europe, but the other two felt wierd.

Did anyone also get these courses?

Gomlek,

The supplementary work is HSG Specific, not related to SIM itself. Basically if you haven't been your bachelor in HSG or a very few partner university (I think around 5 universities), then you automatically get some supplementary work. Either Basket B, 18 ECTS for SIM Students who have done their bachelors in business overall, and Basket C, 38 ECTS, for SIM Students with unrelated studies or large differences between their bachelors and the ones in HSG. And the courses are always the same, they don't take into account whether you already did some law or marketing beforehand.

Normally you'll have the opportunity to subscribe to SIM Start, which consist of few workshops and lectures during the 2 weeks prior to the semester's start and they'll credit you the 18 ECTS. For those who end up with 38 ECTS, it'll waive already 18 which is a good start.

Have a nice summer!

Late March, early April, I believe. Their website is incredibly unhelpful ...

Hi guys!

I am interested in the SIM program. I got a 1.15 Bachelor's GPA (1=best, 5=worst) at WU Vienna and scored 740 (45Q/47V 4.0 AWA) on the GMAT. HSG has a rule that candidates with more than 75 points for GPA and GMAT (in the application process) are automatically admitted to the SIM program. I should be over that threshold. In the admission rules it is stated that for a GMAT score between 740 and 800, the applicant receives 50 points (=max). Do they also assess the AWA score and the split (between Quant and Verbal)? I am a bit worried about my bad AWA and my low Quant score.

Thanks for your help!

Dear Stenus,

I am also applying for SIM this year. I have the same overall GMAT as you do, with better quant and worse verbal.

I don't think the quant score will be the problem for you. Regarding AWA, I would speak to them to clarify - I does not specify what score is fine by them.

Also, do you know how they translate the grades to Swiss equivalents? I study in the UK and it doesnt indicate anywhere how it translates to their requirements... And which subjects they consider 'business-relevant'.
