we can notice two kinds of splits in our 5 second scan!
1)its/their/nuclear fusion- probably pronoun agreement
2)in which vs where- probably modifier error
lets analyse split #2:
"where" can only modify places and nuclear fusion/ heat/light do not qualify as places therefore we can eliminate options C and D
lets analyse split 1:
its illogically refers to stars! therefore we can eliminate options A and B
therefore E is the correct option!
option wise analysis:
(A) its light and heat are produced by nuclear fusion, in which
(B) nuclear fusion produces its light and heat, in which
(C) nuclear fusion produces their light and heat, where
(D) its light and heat are produced by nuclear fusion, where

Stars needs plural pronoun. Its is wrong here. We need their. Between B and E, E is correct as nuclear fusion is correctly followed by comma+in which..
