Admission office is on winter break from Dec 20 04:00PM (close early) to Jan 1 2014. They re open Jan 2.

so we shouldn't be expecting any interview invites to roll in during that time frame, right?

Don't be sure, R1'S that already interviewed are waiting for a decision. They may or may not focus this week on making decision on R1's.

Has any R1 applicant from India/China based out of India/China received an interview to invite? I am trying to find out if Stern has waitlisted all prospective admits from India/China to club them with R2 applicants as offsite interviews will be conducted only by March.

That sounds very unlikely. Stern LOVE to bring people from all over the world to NYC. If they want to interview, they will invite give the option to choose to wait to march or come to campus.
