Still waiting for an application decision - what should I do next?

Question

I applied to this UNIVERSITY on Dec 15 which was the deadline itself.
I have been WAITING so long.
On April 28, I got an email from the head of the department.
He said we have reviewed your APPLICATION but we have a question. He was asking about my GPA. I had my master from UK and the grade system there is totally different from that of USA. So he asked me to explain the difference. I replied to his email the same day but I have not got any news from him so far.

Should I email him asking about my application status? or just contact the ADMISSION office ? or just wait ?
I was also worry that my email got into his junk mail

10 days later, I emailed him asking if he had received my email. He answered yes we received it and have acted on your case. I also called the graduate admission office, they said in two weeks you will hear from us.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN ? do I have a chance ?

The good news: You'll know in two weeks I guess. It's a good sign that they reached out to clarify a point in your application (it means they are interested in you as an applicant).

I'm surprised that the adcom wasn't familiar with the UK grading system (if that is what the question was about).....What school/program are you applying to? Is it a 2-year MBA program???

For a PhD I think things move more slowly. Probably depends on the department. This forum is mostly for people looking to do MBAs so I really am not in a position to advise you

Thanks a lot for your comments.
It is nerve-wrecking for me.
They have already released offers and rejections in Feb and March.
I have just called them and I'm very sure the person who picked up my call he is aware of my application. Because once i said to him my name he answered me directly without checking " your application is still under reveiw "

I would not call or email the school anymore if I were you - it sounds like they are aware of the situation and you don't want to annoy them :/

Agreed - woosah mate - if you haven't heard in another week or two, drop them a note, but patience, while difficult, is definitely the path here!

just a question :
Do u think I have a good chance after his email?
It's really my dream school and I was so happy when the head of the department emailed me.
The university knows that I'm fully funded. So I do not need any funding from the university.
