Super bad question!!

OA is A. It is incorrect because of "role" at the end.

Can anyone challenge my stand??

Stocks and portfolio investment failures have caused many concerned investors to move major accounts, such as 401-K and other retirement accounts.
(A) Stocks and portfolio investment failures
(B) Failures of stocks investments and portfolio investments
(C) Failures in the investment of stocks and other portfolios
(D) Failures of stock and other portfolio investments
(E) Portfolio investment failures, including stocks

Can anyone explain to me why D is incorrect, for C to be correct u need a parallel construction. D doesnot have any problem thus

(A) Stocks and portfolio investment failures
THe meaning is murky therefore out

(B) Failures of stocks investments and portfolio investments
Stocks and portfolio in itself was never bad wrong meaning therefore out

(C) Failures in the investment of stocks and other portfolios
The meaning that the investments led to the failures of stock and other portfolios is perfectly conveyed therefore our option

(D) Failures of stock and other portfolio investments
Stock and portfolio isn't failure in itself but rather their wrong investments is causing the damage therefore out

(E) Portfolio investment failures, including stocks
investement of stocks failed and stocks are not portfolio investment , wrong meaning therefore out

Therefore IMO C
