Hi arslanama,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi arslanama,

With a V15, you would have lost signifiant points in ALL 3 major Verbal categories (SC, RC and CR), so you will need to work on more than just RC to hit your score goal. Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so since you've beens studying for just 1 month, it's likely that you will improve as you continue to study. That having been said, you will have to be really efficient with your studies over the next 2 months to hit a 680+. As such, you would likely find it beneficial to invest in a GMAT Course of some type (either Guided Self-Study or instructor-led).

1) How long ago did you take this CAT? If it's been more than 2 weeks, then you should plan to take a new, FULL-LENGTH CAT soon.
2) Did you have to 'rush' to finish the Verbal section of this CAT (and guess on a bunch of questions)? Did you leave any questions unanswered?
3) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

Its been more than three weeks; i have taken CAT. Secondly, On CR my strategies are properly working and on SC 50 percent are guesses and 50 percent question are based on strategies but on RC when i read the argument i get panic because in 3 minutes its really difficult to absorb the core information so most of the questions answered are based on guesses.

I can spend around 10-12 hours on preparation of GMAT a week.

Hi arslanama,

If it's been more than 3 weeks since you last took a practice CAT, then you would have taken that 1st CAT early-on in your studies. Considering all of the work that you've done since then, we really need to see a new CAT Score (so that we can get a sense of how much you've improved). As such, I strongly recommend that you take a new CAT sometime soon (perhaps this weekend) and take it in a realistic fashion (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.). Once you have that score, you should report back here and we can discuss how best to proceed.
