Hi everyone!
Hi aditi44, So congratulations on your strong GMAT and also your great start to working. I think you may be able to leverage a bit more from the internship but yes- you seemto fall in that middle zone where you now need to gain a bit more work experience to be competitive in a traditional Full time MBA program. I suggest you focus on really developing some strong leadership at work this year and also consider working with a firm like ours for even just a few hours this year to strategize about how to best position yourself and prepare when it is time to apply for an MBA in one or two years. We work with candidates like you on a Profile development package which is like an audit of all the major components of your application and we help identify and strengthen weaknesses in the years leading up to application. You can learn more about this here: https://stratusprep.com/free-consult/ Best wishes to you and it truly looks like you are off to a great start!I'm a 2015 BITS Pilani (India) graduate (integrated dual degree Computer Science engineering and M.Sc in Economics) with a cgpa of 8.9/10. I have a 760 in GMAT and an admit from ISB for the class of 2019 through their Early Entry Option.
As of present, I have work ex of 1 year at a bulge bracket investment bank in the risk analytics division. (I did a one year long internship there as well but that was in the final year of college so it doesn't count as professional work ex)
I have pretty solid academics and I did a summer internship related to CSR in 2012.
I'm just wondering if I can apply at this stage to any of the top business schools outside India and what my options are, given my profile. I'd like to make a functional switch to a marketing or strategy role after my MBA. Most schools seem to have a requirement of 2-3 years work ex, and I've already missed the HBS 2+2 and Stanford GSB deferred programs so I'm stuck in the middle! I'm not too keen on MiM because the job market seems quite bleak in Europe at the moment (I know this is true for finance atleast, not sure abut marketing?). I could also use this time to make my profile more competitive in the required areas, so any guidance would be appreciated!
