I would also check if they have score guarantee. Some courses will offer you a score guarantee and while I’m sure you would rather improve your score, it does feel a little bit better if you get your money back or at least something…

For verbal, what did you use to score 680?

Thanks for your reply, bb.
I used Manhattan guides to study CR and SC basics. I did struggle with RC as I was taking more than 3-4 minutes to read passages. To improve my reading pace, I read fictional novels. I also used the GMAT forum quiz to practice OG questions.

I would consider what you specifically need in verbal. Is it everything or just RC?

Would hate to have to follow a 2-month study plan for the sake of slight RC improvement. Also MGMAT strategy is solid. So I don’t know that you would learn much new, though perhaps going over material again will help (diff words or diff approach)

I have to work on both RC & SC (That is what I could understand from the ESR).

Have suggested Manhattan-Prep's 6th Edition for SC to students.

Hi Gautham, since SC emerges as an area of concern from your ESR, thought I would mention that our sentence correction book Sentence Correction Nirvana is perhaps the only book that offers a score improvement guarantee, and is especially designed for non-native speakers.

After reading the book twice (yes! it's an academic book, and so must be read twice in all seriousness, to reinforce the concepts), you will start looking forward to solving SC questions!

The book is available on Flipkart and Amazon.in. You might want to refer to these sites, to also read testimonials of how readers have benefited.

You can als go thru this post on how Soubhik, who scored V51 (overall score 780), vouches for our book.

If you want to sample a chapter before deciding to go ahead with our book, please PM me your mail-id (along with the chapter that you would like to sample) and I will be happy to send that chapter to you by mail. In addition, the entire Grammar section of the book is also available for free preview at pothi.

Hi Gautham,

First off, a 680/Q49 is a strong Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

There's certainly no harm in continuing to study - and you have the opportunity to pick up points in both the Quant and Verbal sections. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for - and before we get to the data in your ESR - it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

EMPOWERgmatRichC, thanks for your reply.
To answer your questions,
1) 25 to 30 hrs a week
2) I've used MGMAT CR & SC and used Forum Quiz for practicing OG questions. I also used Wizako quant for studying quant basics.
3) All the CATs were given during the last 3 weeks of Jan'23
    MGMAT CAT: 680(Q47, V36), 700(Q47, V38), 700(Q47, V38), and 690(Q47, V37).
    GMAT Club Mock: 670(Q50, V31).
    Official Mock: 700(Q49, V34), 690(Q50, V34)
4) Planning to apply to schools this year for '24 programs. Target schools are ISB (PGP) & IIMA (PGPX)

Hi GauthamManoj,

Regarding what verbal course to use, did you check out course reviews here on GMAT Club? Also, most courses offer a free or low cost trial, so give a few a test drive.

Hi Gautham,

Since you are intereted in applying to some highly-competitive Schools, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans.
