Hi,
I switched jobs in November 2020 and here I am in January with an interview call from a top B-school in India.
Could you give me any pointers on how to tackle the question such as "why don't you spend some more time in your current role" or "why did you switch jobs and apply for an MBA. You seem to be unclear in what you're doing"?

You don't need to invent anything but just tell the truth, except perhaps present it strategically rather than say "they were about to fire me so I had to find another job"
Things like this happen. You are not supposed to be stuck in a job and you may not get admitted, so I would not pause your career/progress just becuase you applied to a bschool. What you need to be careful with is that you don't make it seem like you switched and failed to tell them you were going to leave in 9 months. That would not be nice or respectful.... so I hope you did not switch knowing you would be leaving soon. That would burn a bridge potentially....

Yes that’s right. I was not really hoping for the interview shortlist. I switched to a bigger brand to build my profile so that I could apply for an MBA next year. But I just applied this year to know where I stand, and fortunately I got an interview invite. Now I don’t want to give up the MBA opportunity just because I made a switch. I just didn’t know that things would happen in this fashion
